Lesa was born in Bristol, Tennessee and grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Graduating from James Madison University in 1984, Lesa began her legal career as a para-legal and law clerk with the U.S. Department of Justice - Tax Division. Lesa clerked at Reese, Broom & Diaz and Kasimer & Ittig while in law school at George Mason University, School of Law, graduating in 1991.
Following law school graduation, Lesa practiced law with Kasimer & Ittig, P.C. at Tysons Corner, Virginia specializing in construction claims, employment law, and OSHA litigation. Lesa worked for Keller & Hackman, PLC in Washington, DC specializing in OSHA litigation.
In 1998, Lesa left the world of big law firms and joined Mark in private practice in Alexandria, Virginia turning The Byrum Law Offices, P.C. from a solo firm to a small firm of 2 members. Since joining The Byrum Law Offices, Lesa has expanded her practice to include such matters as Social Security claims, medical malpractice, and personal injury litigation. Lesa has been published in multiple journals and forums.
